“There is magic in puppetry.
Using diverse art forms and movements to give breath, character and emotion, inanimate objects come to life."
Georgie Rose

Artist Profile
I am an artist, storyteller and puppeteer, creating from my studio in Mt Franklin, Victoria. My experiences in local and international community development, filmmaking and art therapy has led to an interest in the diverse and dynamic world of puppetry - puppets can communicate in powerful ways that transcend language and can express things that we humans struggle with.
I am passionate about exploring and discovering ways to connect with and engage people of all ages and enjoy using film, live performance and puppetry workshops (facilitated in schools, art centres and community events).
Puppetry and art provide a natural outlet for big ideas and exciting themes - I love evolving projects from initial concepts to completed works. As an active member of the Puppetsmithery Melbourne I enjoy working on diverse projects including collaborating with Spare Parts Puppet Theatre on the performance of 'String Symphony'. In art, collaboration is important, and I draw on my experiences with artists, educators and puppeteers from around the world to connect, inform and inspire.

Services
I offer a range of different creative services, including designing and constructing puppets for private commission,
facilitating workshops with small groups of all ages and sharing puppets through live performance and on film.
If you are interested in discussing further please feel free to get in touch!

Design & Construction
I have worked with theatre companies, organisations and individuals who have commissioned puppets for specific shows and performances or bespoke gifts. I enjoy finding creative solutions to different challenges in construction and creating the right style of the puppet for each specific purpose. Every puppet is unique.
Creative Workshops
Workshops have the capacity to bring together people of various ages and abilities, encouraging and enabling students to discover and explore their creativity in a supportive environment. These experiences are fun and engaging, each participant leaves with a sense of accomplishment, a deeper understanding of the art form and increased confidence for creative expression.
Puppetry Performance & Film
Puppets are captivating, beckoning us into their world yet leaving space for our imagination to fill in the gaps. I enjoy working with theatre companies or producers and collaborating with other creatives including filmmakers, musicians, puppeteers, voice over actors, animators and others to create a vision that can then be shared to a wider audience, through live performance and film.
